Operations

Description or Purpose The MEIKO GREEN system offers an economically and ecologically sensible solution for kitchen waste and leftovers for large kitchens, hotels, canteens, communal catering, etc. It homogenises kitchen waste and leftovers into a pulpy biomass. This considerably reduces the volume of most waste. Our system is used in commercial kitchens, canteens, hotels, food service and communal catering.
Operating Principles The BioMaster® waste recycle unit converts waste (including frying oil, coffee grounds, fats, etc.) into a homogeneous biomass.
The biomass is made fluid by using the water present in the waste and adding small amounts of process water. The biomass is transported in a closed system into the collection tank in the tank farm. Where it can be stored odourlessly for several weeks at room temperature. The biomass is regularly collected by vacuum tanker – usually every 4 to 6 weeks – and transported to a biogas plant, where it is used directly for energy and raw materials.
Additional Information The BioMaster® 4 Plus is in a class of its own, a powerhouse of a machine whose strength really come to a fore in medium to large commercial kitchens. 150 mm ground clearance, can be plinth-mounted, easy to clean, standard-compliant water supply, attaches to tables and hygiene stations, yet this unit is in a class of its own. The right machine for use in medium to large commercial kitchens. Kitchen waste and food scraps can be processed from just 50 seconds. From breakfast to dinner, norm-compliant processing is guaranteed. A symbiosis between power and design.

Approvals Related to Use of Output

Important Note on Composting in NSW

In NSW, applying waste to land – including a processed waste such as compost - or using it as a fuel may trigger various regulatory requirements. Depending on the proposed use you may be required to comply with a Resource Recovery Exemption or need to hold an environment protection licence, and pay the waste levy.

While there is a Compost Exemption (2014) it is important to note that drying or dehydrating food waste, or any other compostable waste, is specifically excluded from consideration under this exemption. Drying or dehydrating equipment uses externally supplied energy to heat and ventilate food waste or any other compostable waste in order to rapidly dry the waste material over a short time period (typically 24 to 48 hours), either with or without the addition of an inoculum. If you are interested in this type of equipment you should refer to the resource recovery exemptions for information on lawful use of outputs.

If it is intended to use the material as a fuel, it must comply with the NSW Energy from Waste Policy Statement. http://www.epa.nsw.gov.au/waste/140056enfromwasteps.htm
